Who Will Be The Next Celebrity Pregnancy?

And just think, a couple years ago she was dry-humping Billy Bob Thorton on the red carpet, zapped out on god-knows-what kind of medicinal substance.  Seems that Angelina Jolie got bit by the baby bug – and the Mother Theresa bug – big time.   I saw her interview with Anderson Cooper this week, and I have to say I was impressed by her maturity and compassion.  Many celebrities talk the talk about using their tremendous wealth and influence to make a positive change in the world, but I think Jolie is one of the few who are actually walking the walk.  It’s not just the perosnal impact she’s made on the lives of the children she’s adopted, but the awareness she’s raised of the dire situations that the World’s poorest countries are in.

My husband and I have been talking about adopting for some time now, but we currently have our hands full with one toddler, and a business that’s in its infancy.  We’re still going to go through the process very soon, because it takes so much time.  We’re thinking China, Eastern Europe, or Latin America, but hubby says there are plenty of kids here in the U.S. that could use a break, as well.

When I told my mother we were adopting, she gave me a puzzled look that said “why would you want to go and do that?” – which kind of threw me off guard, because Steve and I just figured that adoption was something that everybody automatically supported – even if you’re not in a position to do it yourself.  Everybody has their own situations and reasons that make them decide whether or not to adopt, I suppose – and I respect the decisions of others as I hope they’ll respect ours.

It would be interesting to hear other people’s comments on this matter:  Do you support adoption?  Would you adopt a child yourself?  Why or why not?

Most recently our town had their annual Strawberry Festival, here are a few pictures of our “All American Berries” window display. We had front row sets to the parade and were able to walk down to the Festival from the store. We are located at 125 S market St in downtown Troy.

All I know is that after watching those Dateline internet stings, there’s no way Lily’s going near a MySpace account!
